Lady Emilia Mary Lennox was born on 6 October 1731. She was the daughter of General Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and Lady Sarah Cadogan.3
She married, firstly, Lt.-Gen. James FitzGerald, 1st Duke of Leinster, son of Robert FitzGerald, 19th Earl of Kildare and Lady Mary O'Brien, on 7 February 1747.3 She married, secondly, William Ogilvie in 1774.3 She died on 27 March 1814 at age 82 at London, England.
As a result of her marriage, Lady Emilia Mary Lennox was styled as Countess of Kildare on 7 February 1747. From 7 February 1747, her married name became FitzGerald. As a result of her marriage, Lady Emilia Mary Lennox was styled as Marchioness of Kildare on 3 March 1761. As a result of her marriage, Lady Emilia Mary Lennox was styled as Duchess of Leinster on 22 December 1766. She gained the title of Dowager Duchess of Leinster on 19 November 1773. From 1774, her married name became Ogilvie.3
