About Filemón Tanchoco
Filemon co-founded the Manila College of Pharmacy in 1915, formerly known as the Escuela de Farmacia del Liceo de Manila (founded in 1904, and which he joined in 1908). In 1946, he was appointed chairman of the college, which was re-named Manila Central Colleges. In 1948, when the college was granted university status, he became the first president of Manila Central University.
