Listings from the early history of Nouvelle France indicate that Francoise was "sauvagese", or Indian (probably Huron). Her daughters Anne and Marie were listed in the same history as "metis", or half-blood.

ARCHAMBALDUS, Latinized Germanic name meaning "native bold." Jacques Archambault and Francoise Tourault are the only ancestors of this family Archambault same patronyme. They are both natives of Dompierre-sur-Mer, in the region of La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, formerly province of Aunis.
Son of Antoine Archambault and Renee Ouvrard, Jacques was born in a 1604.Quant Francoise, she was born in 1599 and they both lived in Dompierre-sur-Mer, in a hamlet called Lardillière.Ils have Married 24 January 1629 in Saint-Philibert du Pont-Charault in the old Poitou in France.Jacques farmer and is also vigneron.De 1630 was 1644, Francoise gave birth to 7 children, 2 son and 5 filles.C is 1645 the couple sailed for New France with Pierre Le Gardeur de Repentigny, director of Nouvelle Compagnie des Habitants, and 6 of their children with them.
