Per His death certificate at aged 26, he married Maria Bishop at Duntry Lake Church, Limerick I was unable to find such a place but found Duntryleague Church ruin Limerick (pictured)
Francis had been a member of the Irish Constabulary in Dublin and he had retired when his daughter Harriet was 2 years old. (Per old newspaper clipping)
1854 Lady Elgin was 851 Tonnes departed 21 April 1854 arrived 4th August 1854 (105 days) Ships Surgeon was E Deane,136 males and 116 women 24 boys and 24 girls and no deaths occurred on the journey. He brought his wife and 3 children to Australia with him.
Per the Lady Elgin Shipping Manifest: (1854)
• Frank was 21 and Maria 24 years
• He was an Agricultural Labourer
• He was from Ardag County Mayo and she was from Galbarry, County Limerick.
• He was Church of Rome and she was Church of England.
• Children: Harriet was 4 and was Church of England
John was 2 and was Church of Rome
Margaret was born on the voyage out
1855 After being here for a year he joined the Police. His Police service number 240. He was appointed 13/7/1855 to the NSW Police force Eastern District.
1860 On 15th July 1860 he was a Sergeant per the Police appointments and seemed to have remained in Penrith for the rest of his career.
1868 6th November 1868 he left the Police force. His Number was 240. He left the force on a pension.
