George Boone (4), 1st child of George Boone (3) and Mary Milton Maugridge, Daughter of William Maugridge. George (4) was born in Brandninch, Devonshire, England, July 24, 1690. George (4), his brother Squire (4) and sister Sarah (4) came to America in the year 1713 to find land because their father and mother wanted to come to America and bring their children. George (4) returned to England to tell his father what they found in America. Squire(4) and Sarah (4) stayed here in America while George (4) returned to England.
George (4) returned to America and married Deborah Howell June 20, 1713. She was born Aug. 23, 1691, daughter of William and Mary Howell. William and Mary Howell came from Wales in 1682 and were of royal descent. He was a very prominent man in PA. They were of the Quaker faith and Deborah was a Quaker preacher. They lived in Abington, PA. until 1720, then they bought land in Oley Twp., later called Exeter Twp. in Philadelphia County which was later called Berks County in the vicinety of Reading, PA. George was a teacher. When they lived in Oley Twp., they gave several acres for a Meeting House Friend Burying Ground. They joined the Gwynedd Meeting of the Quaker Church and later attended the Oley Meeting of the Quaker Church. George (4) died in Exeter Twp., Berks County PA on Nov. 20, 1753, Deborah died 1759. When George Boone (4) died, he left in his will: 50 pounds to each of his 10 children, 75 pounds to each of his grandchildren. He mentioned land, mill,, waterworks and sawmill to be divided. George (4) and Deborah Howell Boone were aunt and uncle to the famous Daniel Boone (5), and Squire Boone, Jr. (5). George's will was singed Nov. 18, 1753 and is recorded in Berks Co., PA.

Came to America before 1713 and was a school teacher. He and his wife Deborah were both Quaker ministers. He was a surveyor for William Penn and a professor at the first College of Philadelphia. Lived in Abington Pennsylvania.

"The Boone Society has copies of actual baptisms at St. Disens Church in Bradninch,
Devonshire, England, for 6 of the children of George Boone III and wife Mary. (Note: the Old
James Boone Genealogy gives us the actual birth dates.) George III & Mary actually had 10
children, which include two daughters named Mary, (the first died in infancy)... '1690 George ye
son of George Boone baptized the 20th day of July (George IV)'. From James Boone Genealogy:
"GEORGE BOONE IV. (the eldest Son of George & Mary Boone) was born in the Town of Bradninch
aforesaid, on the 13th of July 1690 about u H. past 5 in the Afternoon; and died in Exeter Township
aforesaid, on the 20 November 1753; in the 64th Year of his Age. He taught School for several Years
near Philadelphia; was a good Mathematician, and taught the Several Branches of English Learning;
and was a Magistrate for several Years. His wifes maiden name was Deborah Howell. She died in
1759 January 26." They married 27 July 1713 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania."

Bradninch, Devonshire, England, "about half past five in the afternoon"; died 20 Nov., 1753, in Exeter
township, Berks County, Pa. (then Philadelphia Co.), in the 64th year of his age. Married 27 July (O. S.)
or 7 Aug. (N. S.), 1713, in Abington, Philadelphia, Pa., Deborah Howell (b. 3 Nov., 1691 [N. S], d. 26 Jan.,1759), daughter of William and Mary Howell. Accompanied by his brother Squire and sister Sarah, George Boone came to America a few years in advance of his parents and their other children, probably about 1713, and was married soon after his arrival. He settled at Abington, in Philadelphia Co., a village not far from Philadelphia, and in the Meeting Records of the Abington Society of friends we find the following entries regarding him..."

His wife’s maiden name was Deborah Howell. She died in 1759 January 26.”

5 mo 27, 1713 (27 July 1713 – old style calendar first month was March): Whereas George Boone and Deborah Howell, the daughter of William Howell, having declared their marriage intentions before two Mo. Meetings, Enquiry being made by persons Appointed and found Clear from all others on ye account of marriage, Did accomplish their Marriage in ye United of Friends as is signified by their Marriage Certificate.”"
He taught school near Philadelphia, then a magistrate.
