About Guiscard Ledet, Baron of Chipping Warden
The following notes appear to not be about the same Guiscard, but rather of a man about 70 years younger:
from Calendar of Inquisitions Post Mortem: Edward I, By Great Britain. Public Record Office (on Googlebooks online)
[Note: 4 Edw I would be circa 1275]
175. Robert Ledet. Writ of plenius ecrtiorari, on the complaint of Guiscard Ledet that lands in St. Laurence held by his father, the said Robert, of Richard de Tillebyri lately deceased, were taken into the king's hand by the subescheator as though the said Richard were seised of them in fee, and seisin given to Constance late the wife of the said Richard, to whom the king granted the wardship of the said Richard's laud and heir, 20 May, 4 Edw. I. Essex. Inq. (undated.)
St. Laurence. 60a. land were held by the said Robert of the said Richard in socage by service of 10s. yearly; and he held nothing of the king by knight's service.
Wychard his son, aged 26, is his next heir. [thus this Wychard, son off Robert Ledet, would have been born c. 1249]
C. Edw. I. File 13. (12.)
