Death Registration
Signed by his son Gilbert Charles Brown.
Claremont, Oct. 12. – It is with regret that I chronicle the death of Mr. Hamilton Brown of the Farm, Pedro P.O. which sad event took place on Thursday afternoon last after a short illness. Mr. Brown who lived to the age of 83 years was very much loved by all who knew him, and was a great help to the peasantry of his district. He held the commission of J.P. for a period of nearly 30 years. He was also a member of the Parochial Board for the parish of St Ann until a few years ago owing to failing health he had to resign and was succeeded by his son Mr. G. C. Brown. His remains were laid to rest in the yard of the Anglican church on Friday afternoon . The funeral service was conducted by the Revd. H. F. Sharpe Rector assisted by the Revd. A. W. Geddes of the Wesleyan denomination. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends, among whom was a number of J. P.’s from the parish.
To his sorrowing widow and other relatives this community tenders their sincere condolence.
