Hannah Thurston's origins are unknown. Her birth is estimated based on her marriage in 1652.

Hannah married first, at Boston, Massachusetts on September 28, 1652, Thomas Lord Jr. Thomas was baptized at Towcester, Northamptonshire, England on November 15, 1616, son of Thomas and Dorothy (Bird) Lord. [1] [2]

The family moved to Hartford, Connecticut the year they were married. In Thomas' 1661 will, he notes he is of Wethersfield. [3]

Her husband Thomas died at Wethersfield, Connecticut between October 28, 1661, the writing of his will, and April 5, 1662 the date of his estate inventory. [1] [3]

After Thomas' death, she married second c 1665, Gregory Wolterton, as his third wife. Gregory was born c1593 likely at Norfolk, England, son of Richard and Mary (Bensley) Wolterton. [1]

Hannah died at Hartford about 1669, and Gregory married fourth, in October, 1670, Jane (______) (Hopkins) Ward.[1]

Gregory died at Hartford, Connecticut in August, 1674. [1]

Gregory wrote his will on July 7, 1674, and it was proved on August 26, 1674. In it he names among others: [4] [1]

Dorothy Lord, daughter of Thomas Lord, deceased 20s [4] [1]

1. Dorothy [1] born at Hartford on August 7, 1653. [5]; in her father's will he states she is 'incapable of caring for herself.' [3]
2. Hannah [1] born in 1656; George Gardner was made her guardian. [3]
3. Mary[1] born in 1659; George Gardner was made her guardian. [3]
