Sir Henry BISET of Kidderminster & Rockbourne
Born: Abt 1158, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England Married (3): After 26 Mar 1215 Died: After 1215, Rockbourne, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England
General Notes: I originally had only one Henry Biset (of Kidderminster, Worcs), but Phil Moody, citing original charters, has two Henry Bisets, one as son of William "the Carpenter" Biset, and the other Henry as son of William's younger brother, Manasser Biset. According to Phil Moody, each Henry had children according to the way that I have it portrayed. I do not know how the descent of lands went, perhaps the Henry son of Manasser was given a life estate in Kidderminster, because it seemed to end up with the heirs of Henry son of William. Note that Phil Moody's finding conflict with Douglas Richardsons 1999 post below, as Aubrey FitzEustace married the other Henry. Henry, son and heir of Manasser Biset. Henry d. bef 4 Apr 1211. "This is based on original research not found elsewhere in print. . Margaret, wife of Roger la Zouche, was the daughter of Henry Biset, of Kidderminster, co. Worcester and Rockbourne, Hampshire, benfactor of Hospital of Maiden Bradley. He married (lst) Aubrey, daughter of Richard Fitz Eustace (ancestor of the Lacy family), with whom he had land in Emsal, Marton, Plumtree, and the whole town of Harworth, co. Nottingham in frank marriage. They had three children, William, John and Margaret (above). He married (2nd) Iseult Pantolf, daughter of Roger Pantolf, of Abkettleby, co. Leciester, widow of Walter de Tateshall and Hugh de Montpincon. He died shortly before 11 Dec. 1213. His widow married (4th) Amaury de St. Amand of Bloxham, co. Oxford." reedpcgen AT aol.com (Reedpcgen) [Paul Reed] posted to GEN-MEDIEVAL-L AT rootsweb.com on 1 Apr 1999 Subject: Re: SIR ROGER LA ZOUCHE: . "A kind soul has faxed me the pertinent pages of the Cirencester Cartulary. . . . . . . This Henry definitely married Isolde, but she might be a second wife, rather than mother of his heir. I know of no specific evidence or rationale to claim that this Henry, who was seated at Kidderminster, Worcester, married a Yorkshire girl. No Yorkshire lands are evidenced in this branch of the family or their descendants." Sire de Cany - lost Cany when French took Normandy.
Marriage Information: Henry married Unnamed first wife. (Unnamed first wife was born about 1160.)
Marriage Information: Henry also married Aubrey FITZRICHARD. (Aubrey FITZRICHARD was born about 1158 in Halton Castle, Skipton, Yorkshire, England and died before 1199.)
