Jacob was b. and m. at Mendon, Ma. and d. at Richmond, N.H. Rebecca who was b. at and d. at Richmond, N.H. Jacob was a farmer. Burials at Benson Cemetery, Richmond, N.H. They resided at Richmond, N.H. He was a member of the Ma. Militia. Enlisted at Uxbridge in Capt. Maynard's Co., Col. William William's Reg't. He was at the assault and capture of Quebec in 1759. Col. Arthur L. Bump's record says that Jacob also served in the Rev. War and that he was a prisoner for three years on the British Ship "Partmore". He further investigated British records but could not verify this. No mention is made of any service in the Rev. War in History of Richmond. In Jacob's will he mentions his s. Asa Bump to whom he left one dollar and all the notes that he held against him at the present time which will be his full share out of his estate. To his dau. Sylvia Bourne, two dollars which she had had which will be her share out of my estate. To his dau. Rhoda Parker one hundred dollars and one fourth part of my household furniture. To my dau. Lovinia Bowen, one hundred dollars and one fourth part of my household furniture. To my dau, Elizabeth Bump, three hundred dollars and one half my household furniture. To my four sons(that is) Laban Bump, Wanton Bump, Barnet Bump, Jacob Bump and the heirs of my son Stephen Bump, all my real estate and personal estate, etc. I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Wanton Bump and Joseph Weeks executors of this my last will and testament. His will was witnessed by Henry Rice, Robert Swan and Abigail Rice and signed by his mark(x) Jacob Bump.
