James Greene was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, on March 14, 1713, son of John Greene and Mary Allen. He married, April 5, 1737, Mary Nichols, daughter of James Nichols of East Greenwich, Rhode Island. James Greene was known to be "of Warwick," and was also mentioned as being "of Coventry." His first two children were born in Coventry, so he must have lived there at least between 1740 and 1744. [1] [2] [3] [4]

John Green was born September 30, 1685,[1] in Potowomut, an isolated neighborhood and peninsula in Warwick, Province Rhode Island. On February 16, 1710, in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts Colony, he married Mary Allen, daughter of Increase Allen of Dartmouth. They settled in Warwick and had ten children, all born in Warwick:[2][3][4] [5] [6]

  5. Elizabeth, born May 26, 1719; married Job Matthewson.[2][6]

Those two additional children would be Henry Green 28 July 1754 (eventually m. Mercy Corey) and Rebecca Green 22 May 1756. Caleb is not mentioned in the LaMance account. His birth into this particular James Greene family is not documented--though his siblings have been.
