She married Sir James Hamilton, 5th of Cadzow, son of Sir John Hamilton, 4th of Cadzow and Janet Douglas, circa 20 October 1422.

Janet Livingston was also known as Janet Livingstone. From circa 20 October 1422, her married name became Hamilton.
