Origins
According to Nan West, an early listing in the LDS records erroneously gave John's wife's name as Joan Palmer and showed her as a daughter of Ric (Richard?) Palmer by Elizabeth Adcock. Later records, however, show her name to be Joan Snawsell, daughter of Robart Snawsnell, who was named in the will of Brian Snawsell on June 10, 1557, Bilton by Hull, Yorkshire, England. Dade's Yorkshire Pedigrees shows Joan Snawsnell's mother Anne as daughter of Thomas Waters of Uffington, Lincolnshire.
Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be December 27, 1586 at Bilton, Warwickshire, England.
Date and place of death have also been (erroneously?) reported to be the following:
- circa 1640 in England
- 1641 in Virginia
