Burial record:

-------------------------------------
Burial: Monocacy, Carrol County, Maryland
Note: They moved to Opeckan, Frederick Co., Virginia by 1744 where John bought 165 acres on Mills Creek from John Mills Jr. This land is now in Berkeley Co., Virginia. He was survived by his widow who married next in 1745 to Alexander Underwood at Monocacy Meeting and died 26 Dec 1777 Wellsville, York Co., Pennsylvania
Was married in Nottingham in Chester County, September 14, 1711 to Sarah Bowater.
After the death of his father in 1726, he moved to the upper portion of Prince Georges County, Maryland, and settled near a large creek by the name of Monocacy, on the extreme western frontier, where he died in 1746. Monocacy is near Frederick, Md. All of western Maryland was then one county, Prince Georges.
From Bill Putnam's information on the Beals Family (according to this, he had long since left Monocacy by the time of his death - any source on his burial there? cemetery name?):

JOHN BEALS, II
John junior was born January 20, 1685/6, the eldest son of John Beals and Mary Clayton Beals, in Aston Township, Chester County (now part of Delaware County), Pennsylvania.
His marriage is recorded on the minutes of the Chester Monthly Meeting as taking place on September 14, 1711. He married Sarah Bowater, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Edge) Bowater. Sarah was born August 17, 1688.
In 1725, the family moved to Monocacy, Maryland. Then the area was in Prince Georges County then, but now the area is Bealsville in Montgomery County, Maryland. The town was named for John Beals Senior and his family. They moved to the area of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting in 1726. On 4-25-1733 they requested to transfer to Nottingham from the Chester Monthly meeting, and they were officially received there on 9-15-1733. A few years later, they moved again, this time to the Fairfax Monthly Meeting in Frederick County (now Loudoun County), Virginia.
John remained in the rolling hill country of northern Virginia for the remainder of his life, farming the lands. He died there in late 1745 or early 1746 and is buried there.
Sarah remarried in Virginia. On February 16, 1748, she married Alexander Underwood, a widower. On April 25, 1748 they were granted certificates to move back to Pennsylvania and be associated with the Warrington Monthly Meeting. Sarah died in the late 1760s in Weelsville, York County, Pennsylvania. I have no information on when Alexander died.

Birth: Mar. 20, 1685 Aston Delaware County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Dec. 12, 1745 Frederick County Virginia, USA
The first of at least five children born to John & Mary Jane (Clayton) Beals of England and late of Chester Co PA, John Jr married Sarah C Bowater on 14 Aug 1711 in Chester Co PA, daughter of Thomas & Sarah (Edge) Bowater of Edgemont Twp, Chester Co PA.
Children with Sarah: 1) Sarah Bowater Beals (1713-1800), m: John Mills Jr. 2) John Beals III (1717-1796), m: Margaret Esther Hunt. 3) Rev Thomas Beals (1719-1801), m: Sarah Esther Antrim. 4) Phebe Beals (1720-1805), m1: Charles Canaday, m2: Robert Sumner. 5) Mary Ann Beals (1723-1790), m1: Thomas J Hunt, m2: William Baldwin. 6) Bowater Beals (1726-1781), m: Sarah Ann Cook. 7) Hannah Beals (1729-aft 1800), m: Azariah Pugh. 8) Prudence Beals (1730-1815), m: Richard Williams.
May 2014, a Find A Grave volunteer reported a problem with John's tombstone photo request: "I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave. There are many illegible and broken stones as well as unmarked graves. This name does not appear on a headstone transcription that was completed in 2000." This is not unusual as many Quaker did not mark their resting place.
John and his family, back to grandparents, are listed in Quaker records. His tombstone must be considered as one of those "destroyed". Many thanks to the above volunteer for their effort and kindness.
Quaker Meeting Records 1681-1994: "John Baels (son of John Baels & Mary his wife) was born the 20:th day of the first mo:th 1685/6."
Since the Quakers used the Julian calendar until 1752, his birth per the Gregorian calendar, the one we use today, is 20 Mar 1685. The next child was born in Apr 1687, so the correct year of John's birth should be 1685.
Note: Removed name Jacob; did not find proof of this middle name for our John within any document.
