John Bosville, of Stoke

Matilda was born in Yorkshire, England, a daughter of Percival Amias and Agnes Lacy. Matilda Amias married John Bosvile, son of Sir John Bosvile and Constance Mounteney.

John the second son succeeded to Chevet. He married Matilda, a daughter of Percival Amias of Yorks., and by her had several children (only two of which, John and Elizabeth, survived infancy. 5 other sons died as infants). She married secondly Thomas de Reresby, Kinight, who was a maltster, and by him she had six more sons and eleven daughters. She died 7th February 1430 as shown by her memorial in the church at Thriberg near Aldwick in Yorkshire.

Her great grand-daughter Elizabeth Reresby married first John Boswell of Ardsley and second John Eyre of Holm, both mentioned in their father-in-law's will.

John Bosville, of Stoke is the son of Sir John Bosville, of Chevet Constance, daughter and heir of Sir John Mounteney, Knight of Stoke. John had two brothers, Achilles and Thomas who both died without issue, and thereby John inherited his maternal ancestral home at Stoke. John married a Matilda, and was the father of John Bosville, who married Joan Radcliff of Orsdal, whose son, William Bosville married Elizabeth, daughter of Percival Amias. They had two daughters, Elizabeth and Alice Bosville, both of whom married Nevills, and so Bosville of Chevet turned into Nevill of Chevet. [1]
