20 May 1574: Instrument of Seisin in favour of Alexander Earl of Glencairn, son and heir of William and grandson and heir of Cuthbert Earls of Glencairn, in the 5 merk land of Langmuir the lands of Alton Tilwood and Newlands (Lambrochton Third Part "Twa Hills") and annualrent of 2 shillings payable from Newlands, all lying in the barony of Kilmaurs and formerly wadset by Cuthbert and William Earls of Glencairn to Hugh Earl of Eglinton deceased (See GD39/1/36) and redeemed by the said Alexander Earl of Glencairn from Hugh then Earl of Eglinton [mentioned in the precept William Cunningham of Caprington, son and heir of the late John Cunningham of Caprington, Adam Cunningham brother german of the said William, witnesses to the instrument William Cunningham in Irvine], grandson and heir of the said Hugh Earl of Eglinton proceeding on a precept from Chancery dated 20 May 1574.
