About John Roach, of Wayne County

There were three brothers who came to this country from the north of Ireland before the Revolution whose names were Thomas, John and William. The family is supposed to be of Welsh decent, which is born out by the size of features of the three brothers, who were all very large powerful men. They settled in North Carolina and all raised large families. The sons of these brothers who were old enough served in the War of the Revolution. Our family are the descendants of William Roach. ( History of the Roach Family as given by Rev. E. M. Roach, of Ozark, Arkansas, who was eighty-two at the time. Written on 11 January 1920 in Miami, Oklahoma.)
