John Sutherland, 2nd of Duffus

John Sutherland, Lord Duffus, - in 1408, as son and heir of Nicholas, Lord of the Castle of Duffus, who was then apparently still alive, ratified a resignation of certain lands by his father in favour of his younger brother Henry. John was one of the hostages for King James I. in 1424, and is then described as Lord of Duffus, but he was exchanged in 1427 for another hostage.[4] Nothing more is known regarding him, and he probably died without issue, as in 1433 his nephew was Lord of Duffus.
