Josiah Parke

He was Surveyor of Preston 1739-49-54, and '55. He was Collector 1744-5.

Josiah was a Preston Surveyor 1739-1754 & Collector 1744-1745. In 1770 came to Wyoming Valley & 1788 went to Old Athens, Litchfield Twp., Bradford, Pennsylvania. He cleared a lot at the state line of Pennsylvania & New York. It is known today as Park Cemetery (where he's buried).

Moved the family from Connecticut to Pennsylvania and built a home on the New York/Pennsylvania line. One of the first buried in this cemetery along the River Road along with many others in the Park and Wolcott families.
