Joyce is the daughter of Thomas Fleetwood and Bridget Spring.[1]

Marriage

Her first husband is Hewett Osborne, son of Edward Osborne and his first wife, Anne Hewett. They had three children:[1]

Joyce remarried to Sir Peter Frecheville of Staveley, Derby,[1] on 18 Oct 1604 in Yorkshire. They are the parents of 3 children baptized at Stavely, Derbyshire:

2. John Frescheville, 1st Baron Freschville, bp. 4 Dec 1607; m. 1) Bruce Nicholls 2) Sarah Harington 3) Anna Charlotte Vic

  • a. Sir Peter Frescheville of Staveley (d 02.01.1582) m. Elizabeth Clifton (dau of Sir Gervase Clifton of Clifton) Visitation (Derbyshire) suggests that there was no issue by this marriage but presumably that should read 'no surviving male issue' given that Visitation (Nottinghamshire, 1662, Clifton & Clifton) & Visitation (Yorkshire, 1563/4, Tempest), which do not mention Peter's 2nd marriage, show that Peter & Elizabeth had the following children.
