They had several children die young.

Daughter Elizabeth said that Julia was a fun person.

1777 Nathan and Julia, along with her parents, moved to Camden, NJ across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, PA. The next year they started on the Philadelphia 800 mile road to Caswell, NC. The state of NC had not been divided into Tennessee until 1796.

Nathan and his cousin Moses settled in Wilkes County on the Elk Creek of the Yadkin River. There was a land grant dated 1 January 1788 for 100 acres on Elk Creek to Nathan. Nathan received a land grant in Wilkes County, North Carolina May 18, 1787. This was on Elk Creek.

Nathan raised his family in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He sold his farm in 1817 and moved to Wayne County, Indiana.
