Katherine de Hastang, Countess of Stafford

Biography

Katherine de Hastang was the daughter of Sir John de Hastang, Steward of the Queen's household, by his wife, Eve.

Katherine married Ralph de Stafford, KG, before 9 Feb 1327.

Ralph and Katherine had two daughters:

• 1. Margaret de Stafford married Sir John de Stafford.
• 2. Joan de Stafford married Sir Nicholas de Beek. They had one daughter, Elizabeth. Nicholas died shortly before 24 Jul 1369.

NOTE: Richardson records show Ralph de Stafford also had a daughter named Joan with his second wife, Margaret de Audley. That Joan de Stafford married (1st) John de Cherleton and (2nd) Gilbert Talbot.

Death

Katherine probably died before 6 July 1332, when Ralph de Stafford married (2nd) Margaret de Audley.
