About Lady Alice de Briwere
Alice de Briwere was one of the sisters and co-heirs of William de Briwere.

ALICE de Briwere . Her parentage and second marriage are confirmed by a writ dated 2 Jan "33 Hen III", after the death of her son "William Paynel alias Painel" which names the manor of "…Huffeculm…with 10 l land which Fulk Painel gave to William Briwer the elder…but afterwards William Brewer the younger…bestowed the said land upon William Painel, father of this one, in free marriage with Alice his sister" in Devon[1991]. Bracton records a claim, dated 1233, by "Hugo Wack" against "Margeriam de Feritate et Willelmum de Percy" relating to an agreement "cum Alicia de Moun et predicto Hugone" concerning share of land which was held by "Willelmi Briwere"[1992]. The Testa de Nevill includes a list of fees of William Briwere, dated 1234, records "porcio Alicie de Moyun"[1993].

3. ALICE3 DE BRIWERE (William2, Henry1), daughter of (2) Sir William2 and Beatrice (de VAUX), was born between 1153 and 1202, and died in 1226[2]. She married (AAP-5) REYNOLD DE MOHUN I, EARL OF SOMERSET, son of (AAP-4) William IV and Lucy, who was born before 1186[2], and died in 1213[2]. [2, 5, 6]

+ 6 i. SIR REYNOLD6 DE MOHUN II, b. about 1206; d. on 20 Jan. 1257/8; m. (YE-5) HAWISE FITZ GEOFFREY, d. before 1243[2], daughter of (YE-2) Geoffrey, Earl of Essex and (L-20) Aveline (de CLARE).
Reynold married the daughter of Sir William and Beatrice Briwerre, she died in the year 1226.
He inherited Dunster in 1204 and he receive a grant from the church of Last Camel, 1204-13. He also was given Shortmansford, Slaworth in 1192-1205 and the manor and church of Marlansleigh, Devon to the Priory of Barlynch.
