About Lendmann Alv Erlingsson til Tandberg

Alv Erlingsson of Tornberg (b. About 1190 el 1180 - approx. 1240 or 1278)

Was a powerful resident of Ringerike.

Spouse

  • Married: Ingeborg Bårdsdatter of Rein, sister to Duke Skule. Alv's seat was, according to the saga, the main farm Tornberg, which today is known as Tanberg on Norderhov, which is just off Norderhov church in Ringerike municipality.

Children

  • Erling Alfson Tornberg and his grandson had the same name as his grandfather (and he should not be confused with), Alv Erlingsson (younger), and became a central man in the guardian circle around King Eirik Magnusson before he became pirate and rebelled against the Norwegian throne
  • Ragndid Gudrun Alvsdatter Tandberg;
  • Åsa Alvsdatter Tornberg

In years 1220-1231, Alv ssselmann was duke Skule at Søndmør in Borgund and is mentioned as one of the Varbelgere's drivers.

From 1232, Duke Skule no longer had a position of power that allowed him to keep the third of the country under his rule. The saga calculates some powerful men who stood Skule bi during the national meeting in Bergen in 1233, between Skule and King Håkon, when demands for reduction of the earl seam were first erected. The circuit included Elv Erlingsson of Tornberg. In 1239, Alv was counted among Skule's most ardent followers, as this would assume the king's name and summoned the most powerful farmers throughout Trondelag to Øreting.

Alv also participated in Skule's uprising in 1240 and was one of his most faithful men during the fighting against the birch bones, which was beaten that year. When he was not mentioned, he probably died shortly afterwards.

History

Mr Jon is supposed to be the daughter-in-law of the alderman of Tornberg and Ingeborg Baardsdatter of the Reins family. In a letter by (DN VII 134), the Pope gives a dispensation for entering into a marriage between Torvald Torvaldsson, son of Mr. Torvald Toresson and Mrs. Ragndid Jonsdatter, and Æsa Haakonsdatter, daughter of the knight and the councilor Mr. Haakon Toresson to Manvik in Brunlanes and Leikvang in Eidsberg as the parties were related to 4th degree. From this it is possible to draw closer conclusions about the origin of the Sudreimsset. Already the freight conditions make it quite certain that Mr. Torvald Toresson's family must be applied for in Hjaltland. The Herdis name is also virtually unknown in Norway. On the other hand, Asa's mother is probably Danish by birth. It is therefore highly likely that it is Mrs Ragndid Jonsdatter and Mr. Haakon Toresson who is related. Now, within their immediate family there is another papal marriage permit, as Mrs Ragndid's nephew Mr. Sigurd Havtorsson den (DN VI 166) got permission to genuine Mr. Håkon's daughter daughter Ingeborg Erlingsdatter, daughter of the Lord of the Rings Mr. Erling Vidkunnsson and Mrs Elin Toresdatter. Also, Mr. Sigurd and Ingeborg are stated to be four sentences. Therefore, there can be no doubt that Mrs Ragndid and Mr. Havtore was reminiscences of Mr. Håkon and Mrs Elin. This again means that Mr. Jon Raud Ivarsson, or his wife, must be cousins either by Mr. Håkon and Mrs. Elin's father, the baron hr. Tore Håkonsson (Biskopsson) by Leikvang or by their mother, who also called Mrs IngeborgErlingsdatter. If so, there are more possibilities. About Mr. Tores ancestors are only known that he was the son of Archbishop Håkon and at least there is nothing to indicate that he was of particular prominence, then it would be the son's noble marriage. Mr Tore's wife, Mrs Ingeborg Erlingsdatter's relationship is better known. She was the sister of the famous Earl hr. Alv Erlingsson () and daughter of the baron hr. Erling Alvsson to Tornberg (Tanberg) on Ringerike who again was the son of the alder of Tornberg and Ingeborg Baardsdatter of the Reins family, King Inges and the sister of Duke Skule. Jon had a daughter named Ragndid (really Ragnfrid) and two of the grandchildren called Gudrun. Both names occur precisely in the Reins family, Ragndid even saw several times. Ragdid is such a rare name that only the circumstance that it occurs within the Sudreims family makes it predominantly likely that there must have been some connection between this and the Reins family. If one now sees the present moments in context, it turns out that one will achieve a fully satisfactory explanation both of the mentioned younger kinship tasks and of the name relationships by assuming that Mr. Jon Raud's mother (Gudrun or Ragndid?) Was the daughter of Alv of Tornberg and Ingeborg Baardsdatter. This also gives you the best possible explanation of the Sudreims family's prominent social position and the fact that Mr. Jon's son is chosen as the spouse of King Hakon's daughter. Mr. Jon himself was the lumbar spine, it can be safely taken for granted on the basis of the family's position. In Håkon Håkonssons saga, however, only a lover named Ivar is mentioned, namely Ivar Nef, but he belonged in Hålogaland, mentioned already in 1198 and became a lover at Christmas time. He cannot therefore be considered as a possible father of Mr. Jon Raud. For the peacetime, however, the story of the saga is very little elaborate, and when a number of pawns died at the beginning of this period, one can with certainty assume that several of King Håkon's deserved, high-minded men during this time have achieved the peasant dignity, even though this is not directly enlightened in the saga. One of the people close to assuming that this distinction has been awarded is the Ivar of the Skedjuhof. Skedjuhof in Sørum belonged in the 14th century to Mr. Jon Havtorsson and was also the main farm in his large estate at Romerike! Mr Jon's properties, apart from some farms in Østfold, have previously not been known, but can now be determined on the basis of younger cargo conditions. Then Mr. Jon's wife, Mrs Birgitte Knutsdatter, was Swedish, and since the properties his father got with his wife, the king's daughter Mrs Agnes, are at least mainly known, it is, in the circumstances, no reason to doubt that Skedjuhof with associated goods is inheritance after my grandfather, Mr. Jon Raud. That Mr. Jon as the eldest son chooses Skedjuhof, and not Sudreim, to his main farm at Romerike, also clearly points out that it is the first-mentioned property that is the family's original seat. According to the present, it can therefore be taken for granted that Mr. Jon Raud Ivarsson is the son of Ivar of Skedjuhof. Hirdskråna from Magnus VI Lagabøte's reign has an archaic character in that its formal frame way back to the herd's original task as a daily war, and despite the fact that the character of the herd had changed significantly. At the end of the 13th century, the country's worldly aristocracy passed a formal elite formation, a process that ended with the hurdles disintegrating in the first half of the 14th century. M

Kretsen omfattet bl.a.
