About Leslie Apatow
Leslie Mann (born March 26, 1972) is an American actress best known for her roles in comedic films such as The Cable Guy (1996), George of the Jungle (1997) The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), 17 Again (2009), Funny People (2009), Rio (2011), The Change-Up (2011), and This Is 40 (2012), many of which are collaborations with her husband, Judd Apatow.
She was raised by her real estate–agent mother in Newport Beach, California, the youngest in a pack of kids that included two siblings and three older step-brothers. Her screen break came when she was cast as Nurse Mary in the short-lived Birdland (1994). Further TV and film roles followed, including The Cable Guy (1996), where she met her husband, Judd Apatow, who was a producer on the film. The story goes that after Mann left her audition for the role, Apatow turned to his colleagues and said "there goes the future Mrs. Apatow".
Mann and Apatow have two daughters, Iris and Maude.
"With her delicate beauty and sharp wit, Leslie Mann is Hollywood’s queen of comedy. Married to comic genius Judd Apatow, the couple has launched a thousand jokes—and countless conversations about the human condition." (Elle Magazine, 2012)
