MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 10 He was the son of John Akin b.1700 in Henrico Co., VA. John Akin and his spouse, Katherine never left Virginia. I have a Deed, where in 8 Dec 1764 Lewis was a resident of Lunenburg Co., VA where he sold 80 acres of his fathers land back to his grandfather, James Akin, before moving on to Laurens,SC where his residence is proven abt 1779. His actual surname was Akin, but later changed after he moved to South Carolina where it changed to Akins.
