Lt. Daniel took the oath of allegiance 8 Feb 1668/1669 and made Freeman in 1690 . He was selectman in 1670. He occasionally held other offices and was often appointed on committees for attending to various town affairs which called for the exercise of discretion and sound judgment. He was also active in the Church. He was first mentioned as "Lieutenant" Daniel White on the records in 1692.[1]
"He died on 27 Jul 1713 in Hatfield, Massachusetts. By his will, dated 11 July 1713, he gave £ 4 to the church in Hatfield, and made his only surviving son, Daniel his executor. Prior to his death he had given a part of his land to son Daniel, and to his daughter, Hannah, but he left a large estate for those times. The inventory amounted to £636, not including the homestead and some other property, which was appraised in 1719 after the death of his widow, at nearly £ 300." [1] “Mrs. Sarah White died at Hatfield, June 26, 1719 aged 72. Her inventory shows the following list of articles in her wardrobe. She was not only well supplied, but seems to have been a little extravagant, for that day, for one residing in a small town. 8 shifts; damask gown; silk girdle; linen gloves, muff, head linen, leather gloves, blue stockings, silk gloves, lustring hood, 8 handkerchiefs, fan, plain cloth coat, white waistcoat, damask coat, painted serge coat, blue damask gown, streaked under coat, silk pranella gown, serge hood and bluefacing, 5 aprons…evaluated at $54.67”[1]
