Luke Henry Bowyer

Luke Henry Bowyer was born on December 10, 1787, in Staunton, Augusta, Virginia. He was the son of William Bowyer and Margaret Ann Lewis.[1]

At the age of 26, Luke married Martha Frazer on March 16, 1814, in Greenbrier County, Virginia, when she was 22.[2][3] They had one known son - Thomas Lucein.[1] (Cemetery records indicate that Luke is buried with two unnamed children).[4]

Luke died on June 11, 1819, in Virginia, at the age of 32. He was buried at Old Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lewisburg, Greenbrier, West Virginia.[4]

William Bowyer (d. bef. 1808) first married Elizabeth Starke Christian, daughter of Israel Christian.[5] They had two daughters -

1. Priscilla and
2. Mary.

Elizabeth died around 1775.

Soon after, William remarried to Margaret Ann Lewis, widow of John McClanahan.

William and Margaret had five children together -

1. William C.,
2. Strother,
3. Malinda A.,
4. Peter C., and
5. Luke Henry.
