About Luz Calvo
Luz Calvo, a daughter of a Royal Spanish Army officer "Duque Bonifacio Calvo", Spanish Conquistador Army and military Governor of Burias Island (near the Bondoc Peninsula and also near Masbate and Sorsogon). He was granted an encomienda in Bulanon, Sagay, Negros Occidental which is near Cadiz City. Luz is the only daughter of the four children of Bonifacio Calvo. Luz and her younger brother were left in the care of Spanish Catholic Nuns when their older 2 siblings and their parents went on vacation to Spain.
