Margaret Moore

Margaret Brent (died 1560) was the daughter of John Brent and Anne Berkeley, grand daughter of John Brent, Sir Thomas Berkeley and Elizabeth Neville.

Wife of John Dering, married before 1525. They had five sons and four daughters:

1. Richard
2. Anthony
3. John
4. Edward
5. Christopher
6. Anne, wife of William Swann & Ralph Haymond
7. Bennett, wife of Francis Bourne
8. Martha, wife of Mr Hutchins & Mrs Guildford
9. Margaret, wife of Mr Harison

Secondly, wife of John Moore of Benenden.

Notes

From Stirnet's "Berkeley05" page (membership required to view without interruption): "BP1934 (Dering) reports that <this> Margaret was dau of John Brent of Charing by Anne, dau of Sir Edward Berkeley. We show Anne as Sir Edward's granddaughter."

Date of birth might be 1510. It and place of birth have also been erroneously reported to be 1539 at Benenden.

Date and place of death have also been (erroneously?) reported to be 1562 at Croghan, Queen's County. (Apparently this Croghan is not the same as the one in County Offaly or the one in County Roscommon.)

P. 178 John Moore, of Benenden, married Margaret, the daughter and heir of John Brent, widow of John Dering, of Surenden.
Dering died 1550, and Mrs Moor in 15G0, both being buried at Pluckley.
BURIAL. 1560 Margit Moor ye wife of Mr John Moore (formerly widow of John Dering of Surrenden died 1 day of December . John Moore is said to have had six sons and one daughter. (Brit. Mus. Add. 5534.) TPD 11/9/222
