About Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scotland
Margareta Tudor, born November 28, 1489 in the Palace of Westminster in London, died October 18, 1541, was an English princess, Queen of Scotland, and later Regent of Scotland during the incapacity of her son Jacob in 1513–1514.
Her marriage to King James IV of Scotland was intended to bring peace between the two countries of Scotland and England, Which had long been at feud. However, this failed and the king was killed at the Battle of Flodden. Margaret then caused scandal by remarrying the Earl of Angus, against her brother's wishes, and then seeking a divorce from him.
Margaret's great-grandson, James, became the king who united Scotland and England, despite Margaret and her descendants being Excluded from the English line of succession by Margaret's brother, Henry VIII of England.
