In Leipzig on 19 November 1460 Ernst, Elector of Saxony married with Elisabeth of Bavaria-Munich. They had seven children:

Margarete (b. Meissen, 4 August 1469 - d. Weimar, 7 December 1528), married on 27 February 1487 to Duke Heinrich of Brünswick-Lüneburg.
