About Mary Macomber
Note to researchers: The township of Dartmouth did not exist until 1664. It was still Wampanoag country and the deed to purchase was not agreed to until 1652. Any mention of a colonist being born in Dartmouth prior to 1660 is in error. Mary Randall could not have been born here.

Biography
Elizabeth Mary Randall, known as Mary, was born 16 May 1648 at Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts. In 1672, Mary married William Macomber, son of William Macomber and Priscilla Ursula Thomas. Mary (Randall) Macomber died, age 63, at Dartmouth 2 Jul 1711.[1]
William Macomber was born in 1645 "in Marshfield, Mass., was a cooper by trade. May 18-28, 1665, James Cooke of Plymouth sold to William Macomber, Jr., of Marshfield, one-fourth part of a share of land at Dartmouth, given to him by his deceased father, Francis Cooke. See Deeds at Plymouth. III. 169. The lot just mentioned was in the present town of Westport, Mass., and embraced what is now a part of the village of Westport Point. It was bounded easterly by the main road and westerly by the west branch of Westport River. This original farm of one hundred and forty or more acres has been considerably divided, but a part of the same is still in the possession of the Macomber family, being owned by Charles Macomber."
The will of William Macomber, dated 10 April 1711 and probated 2 July 1711, names wife Mary and all his children, whose births are found in the town records of Dartmouth.
