1. Mathilde de Carinthie, née en 1108 et morte le 13 décembre 1160 ou 1161, est une princesse de la maison de Sponheim, fille du duc Engelbert de Carinthie et de Ute de Passau (v. 1050 - † 1140)1. Elle est la mère d'Adèle de Champagne, reine des Francs. MATHILDE DE SPONHEIM NE PEUT PAS ÊTRE LA MERE D'EON DE BLAISON PUISQU'ELLE EST NEE 72 ANS PLUS TARD QU'EON!

Ses ascendants étaient venus de Sponheim en Franconie au duché de Carinthie faisant partie de la suite de l'empereur Conrad II le Salique († 1039).

Son père le comte Engelbert II de Sponheim († 1141), par son mariage avec Uta, fille du burgrave Ulrich de Passau, a obtenu de nombreux biens autour de Kraiburg en Bavière. En Carinthie, les Sponheim ont créé l'abbaye Saint-Paul du Lavanttal vers 1091. Engelbert a été nommé margrave d'Istrie par le roi Henri V du Saint-Empire en 1108 ; il a été témoin du couronnement impérial de Henri le 13 avril 1111 et de la conclusion du concordat de Worms en 1122. L'année suivante, il est nommé duc de Carinthie et margrave de Vérone succédant à son frère aîné Henri IV.

En novembre 1125, à la Diète de Ratisbonne convoquée par le nouveau roi Lothaire III, les émissaires du comte Thibaut IV de Blois (1093-1152) ont demandé Mathilde de Sponheim en mariage. L'union conjugale a été arrangée avec l'aide du prêtre Norbert de Xanten. Son mari, comte de Champagne (Thibaud II), de Troyes et de Meaux, comte de Blois et de Chartres, entretenait une relation ambivalente avec son seigneur le roi Louis VI le Gros.

2. Matilda De Blaison (De Carinthia), née vers l'an 1000 à L'Île-Bouchard, Centre-Val de Loire, France, est décédée vers 1047 à L' Abbaye de Fontevraud, Pays de la Loire, France. Elle fut enterrée à l' Abbaye de Fontevraud, Pays de la Loire, France. Son fils : Eon De Blaison, né en 1025 à Blaison-Gohier, Maine-etLoire, Pays de la Loire, France, et décédé en 1086 à L'Ile-Bouchard.

(-[13 Dec 1160/1161]).  She is named by Orderic Vitalis, who calls her father "Duke Engelbert", when recording her marriage[125].  The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines names "comitissa Mathildis Campaniensis et uxor Renaldi comitis Nivernensis et comitissa Montis Veteris iuxta Coloniam et mater illorum Romanorum qui Froiepain dicuntur" as sisters of "archiepiscopi Coloniensis Frederici"[126], although the latter is shown by other sources to be their paternal uncle.  "Teobaudus Blesensis comes" made a donation to Montiérender by charter dated 1139 with the consent of "Matildis comitissa uxor mee et Henricus filius meus"[127].  "Comitissa Mathildis et filius eius Henricus et Theobaudus et Stephanus" donated property to the abbey of Fontevraud by charter dated to [1125/49][128].  A list of foundations at Troyes records the memory "13 Dec" of "Mathilde épouse du comte Thibaut"[129].  The necrology of Saint-Etienne, Troyes records the death "13 Dec" of "Mathildis comitissa"[130].  The necrology of Chartres cathedral records the death "Id Dec" of "comitissa Mathildis mater…archiepiscopi Senonensis Willelmi et…Henrici comitis, Teobaldi comitis atque comitis Stephani"[131].  m (1123) THIBAUT IV “le Grand/le Vieil” Comte de Blois, son of ETIENNE Comte de Blois & his wife Adela of England ([1085/91]-8 Oct 1152).
