• not the same as Thomas Spencer of Defford. This Spencer family was of Badbury in Northamptonshire.
• not the same as Thomas le Despenser, Esq. and Joanne le Despenser. That's a fraudulent pedigree.
• Probably the father of Henry Spencer, of Badby who married Isabel, and therefore, his descendants include Princess Diana of Wales and Winston Churchill. See his son's profile for details.
