About Murdoch Mackenzie, 5th of Kintail
Murdoch Mackenzie 5th Laird of Kintail was born in 1363, in Kintail, Ross-shire, Scotland, his father, Murdoch Dubh MacKenzie 4th of Kintail, was 23 and his mother, Lady Isabel MacAulay of Lochbroom, was 19. He married Finguala Macleod of Harris about 1395, in Kintail, Ross-shire, Scotland.
Biography
Murdoch (Mackenzie) Mackenzie Vth of Kintail is a member of Clan Mackenzie.
The Scots Peerage suggests: MURDOCH MACKENZIE, known as 'nah'uagh' (of the cave), is stated to have had from King David II. a charter ('Murdo fllio Kenneti de Kintaill') of confirmation of all his lands, dated 1360, but the charter is not extant or recorded, and its authenticity is not now admitted by genealogists. Note: This is not clear why, 1369 would have been the year in which he reached 24 and thus served heir to his lands.
He is said to have married Isabel, daughter of Murdoch Macaulay of Lochbroom, with whom he got the lands of Lochbroom, and by her he had a son Murdoch. He died in 1375.
