Nathaniel Loomis was born in Braintree, Essex, England about 1626 and came to America with his family in 1638. They spent a year in Dorchester, then settled in Windsor. Nathaniel married Elizabeth Moore, daughter of John Moore, in Windsor on November 27, 1654. She was born about 1628. Nathaniel was a member of the Connecticut Calvary in 1658, under command of Major John Mason. He was also a member of Windsor Troop of Horse in King Philip's War. Nathaniel & Elizabeth had twelve children. After King Phillip's War, he moved his family to the east side of the Connecticut River, where he bought a house and land in Windsor on "The Island". Nathaniel died August 19, 1688 and was buried in the Palisado Cemetery.

Nathaniel Loomis was Freeman in 1654 and admitted to the church May 3, 1663. Was a member of Windsor Troop of Horse in King Phillips War.

His will is preserved at Hartford, Connecticut and is signed Nathaniel Loomys.

Nathaniel Loomis was born in 1626 at Braintree, England. He married at Windsor, Connecticut, on 24 November 1653, Elizabeth Moore, the daughter of John and Abigail Moore. His will, signed Nathaniel Loomys and dated 17 August 1688, is preserved at Hartford. His wife was then living. He died 19 August 1688 at Windsor, Connecticut. Nathaniel was made a freeman (voter) in 1654 and was admitted to the church in Windsor on 03 May 1663. His will is dated Aug 17, 1688 and is preserved at Hartford and is signed Nathaniel Loomys. He was a member of the Windsor Horse Troop in King Phillip's War.

He was fined 12 shillings. Hartford Co., CT, Court Records V 3 & 4. Joseph and Nathaniel Loomis sued Anthony Hoskins for not maintianing a fence on land on the east side of the great river in April 4, 1675. Joseph must have been a brother as his father Joseph had died by that time. Later he sued Thomas Long for improving land belonging to Loomis.
