From the Genealogy Center of the Allen County Public Library - Nicolaus Reitender was born 1683 in Tiefenbach, was confirmed in 1698 at the Waldhambach Lutheran Church (in Rexingen), was a farmer and died about 1760. Sources- Anton Ridenour Descendants by Ron Gephart, 2001 18th Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace by Annette K. Burgert 1992 emigrated on the ship Robert & Alice in 1736 to Philadelphia

Nicholas married Maria Magdalena Arnet and had 10 children. His second wife was Rosina Kershner. Nicholas with his 100 acres called "Ridenour's Pond" and John Hager and others founded Hagerstown, MD.
