About Peter Landers Best
Book - Our Kin by Laben Milles Hoffman 1915 page 359
Peter Best, son of Boston Best, the pioneer, was married to Christina Whittenburg, Oct 13, 1779. I think she was the sister of John Henry Whittenburg, whose wife Mary Hoyle, was his mother's sister. She may however, have been his first cousin, the daughter of said Whittenburg. he was afterward married to three other wives as heretofore stated. He had at least fourteen children who grew up, married and had families, most of whom moved west, principally to Southeast Mo. I am unable to designate the mothers of any of the following children of Peter Best, except, I think Elizabeth was probably the daughter of his wife, Christina, and perhaps her only child
