'It is claimed that this Peter Thomas Hull (Hohl) is the son of another Peter Thomas Hohl, therefore is labelled as Jr in this profile. However, for his records in Virginia, he if often referred to as Peter Thomas Hohl Sr, since he too had two sons named Peter ie one with his first wife, and one with his second wife: Susanna. There are instances where these two sons named Peter have also been labelled as Peter, Jr.

Peter Thomas had a wife in Germany by which he had 2 children and was married 2) 25 Nov 1750 in Lancaster Co, PA to Susannah Margaretha Dieffenbach (Fieffenbach). Peter Thomas came to Philadelphia from Rotterdam on the ship Frances and Ann, Thomas Coatan, Master, arriving in Philadelphia 30 May, 1741. (Thirty Thousand Names of German, Swiss, Dutch and French Immigrants, Rupp, p 145).
He located in Lancaster Co, PA and the records of Trinity Lutheran Church show that "Peter Thomas Hohl, a widower and a miller, on the Susquehanna River and Susannah Margaretha Dieffenbach, a single person, have been published several Sundays, and are joined, in wedlock, 25th of Nov 1750."
Peter Thomas, his bride, and his two sons by his former marriage, Peter and Francis, took the trail towards the Valley of Virginia. They settled on land bought from Christopher Francisco, on Cub's Run, Rockingham Co, VA 2 Jul 1752. This land was a part of the Jacob Stover tracts. In 1765, they acquired land in Crab Apple Bottom, the garden spot of what is now Highland Co. VA.
