- Will of Phillip Sanders. Presented by William Sanders and proved Thomas Asbury and Thomas Cockerell on 27 March 1723. Recorded 6 April 1723. Legacies:
- (1) to son William Sanders and the heirs of his body, the plantation where he the said William now lives, and 1/2 of my land & appurtenances;
- (2) if daughter Ursuly Taylor should become destitute of land to live on, she shall have use of sufficient land on the plantation whereon I now live during her natural life;
- (3) to grandson John Sanders son of son William Sanders the plantation I now live, or the other half of my land, with appurtenances, and his lawful heirs. For want of such heirs to grandson Phillip Sanders and his lawful heirs, and for want of such heirs to next heir at law;
- (4) to granddaughter Mary Sanders, two pewter basins dishes and half a dozen of pewter plates;
- (5) Remainder of estate after paying debts to be equally divided between my son William Saunders, daughter Urslee Taylor and wife Elizabeth Sanders.
