About Pte. George Arthur Caswell
George Arthur Caswell was the son of Mark and Ellen Caswell, 24 Regent Street, Timaru. Two sons, brothers William Caswell (17/382) and George Arthur Caswell (6/4008) were killed in WW1. Wounded in action, 28 May 1916 (abdomen and hand); admitted to 2nd NZ Field Ambulance, 29 May 1916; discharged to unit, 14 June 1916; rejoined unit, 15 June 1916. Reported missing in action, 21 September 1916; subsequently confirmed killed in action, 21 September 1916.
