This is what I have:

Born in Abbeville District, South Carolina on 25 June 1797 and died 1 mile east of Hazel Green, Alabama 3 June 1874. He left South Carolina and went to Madison County Alabama in 1817. He fought as a Private in the war of 1812 in Austin's Regiment, South Carolina. He had a brother by the name of Thomas (a bachelor), William who had a family in Kosciusko, Mississippi and a sister by the name of Nancy who married George Broswell--they lived in Anderson, South Carolina.

The copy of Levi and Charlotte's marriage record I have says they were married on 8 April 1819. On the record Levi's name is spelled Levy and Charlotte's name is spelled 'Charlotte', and 'Charity' (which is crossed out), her last name is spelled 'Amonit'.

This information comes some from Levi's descendant I am corresponding with and some from my own records.

Hi,

I was doing some searching on rootsweb tonight and noticed that you have researched Levi Donaldson. I have recently started researching him and am interested in corresponding with you. I know very very little about him. I have made contact with someone who is sharing what they know (a descendant of Levi's), and would like to 'talk' with as many people as possible.

I so far know the basics, when he was born/died, when he married Charlotte and a little bit about Hazel Green and a couple of the slaves he had. My cousin did quite a bit of research and got back to Levi, however, she did not do much with him (she shared more information regarding Charlotte's father John). So far, I have been able to successfully retrace her research and would like to more about John and his family.

If you are interested and willing to share your notes with me, I would be more than thankful.
