Rabbi Meyer Wallich

There is no evidence for him being a rabbi. Neither is there any evidence for him being called Schiff.

A document from 1644 mentions Moyse Goldschmidt as the son-in-law of Meyer Juden von Minden (Stadtarchiv Stadthagen BIII, Nr. 9, Vol. 1, 28-5-1644).

His wife (ידל) died in Frankfurt in 1651. Between 1601 and 1618 Meyer is mentioned in Brakel, the location of the mint of the Prince-Bishopric of Paderborn. In 1619 Meyer leased the mint of the count of Schaumburg. In 1621 he settled in Minden. A local Jewish source mentions him there in 1625-27 using the same spelling (מאיר וואליך) as on the Wallich list from Worms. Unable to return his debts in 1645 he fled from Minden to Paderborn.
