About Rebecca Forde - Martin, Free Settler "Rockingham" 1830

" all my research on this family is concentrated between South Cadbury Parish Somerset ( abode
given as Gillingham Dorset) and Gillingham Parish Dorset …. Rebecca ( Dyte) married first John Forde 25 Aug 1805 south Cadbury ( they had their daughter Ann baptised that same day, she was born July 19 1805 recorded as the dau of John Forde and Rebecca Dyte ) …..John Forde died and is buried 15 June 1809 aged 29 … Rebecca then has another child recorded as Ruben Denman Forde the base born child of Rebecca Forde widow Born Feb 26 bp April 23 1812…. Then April 1 1820 Rebecca Forde widow marries Samuel Martin in South Cadbury his parish is given as Gillingham Dorset then Robert baptised 29 January 1821 Gillingham Dorset, Simon baptised 31 Aug 1823 South Cadbury abode given as Gillingham and then Henry baptised 26 Mar 1826 Gillingham Dorset …. I trawled through the actual parish record to find all this information and that’s where I found Rebecca’s baptism the base born child of Hannah Penny baptised 27 February 1785 and Hannah’s subsequent marriage to William Dite a couple of months later on 17 may 1785 … there is still more to do on this when I get time … hope this clarifies things a bit better and as you can see the above death in North Curry doesn’t fit in "
