John Stovall who resided during the American Revolution at Bedford Co. Virginia assisted in establishing American Independence, while bringing supplies to our troops. John Stovall who resided during the American Revolution at Granville County, North Carolina, assisted in establishing American Independence, while bringing supplies to our troops.
He is also listed in the Colonials soldiers of the south with his son Bartholomew.
John was the son of Bartholomew and Ann Burton Stovall.
In the spring of 1779, John, his seven sons, and many of his son-in-laws took their oath of allegiance together in Granville County, North Carolina to “defend the independent Government thereof against George, the third, King of Great Britain and his successors.” Later he gave supplies to the NC militia and for which he was paid.
