• According to Visitation the father is Randol, while History of Co. Palatine and City of Chester has Randol's brother William as father. Their father was Roger, son of Ranulph in the time of William the Conqueror.
• According to Morris, he gave to St. Werbergh one third of Over Tabley about 1150-76. According to the Finley's book, he married Ellen. According to Omerod, his surname was Mesnilwarin.
