Sir George Booth, 1st Bt. was born on 20 October 1566.1 He was the son of Sir William Booth and Elizabeth Warburton.1 He married, firstly, Jane Carrington, daughter of John Carrington and Ellen Holford, on 18 February 1577/78.1 He married, secondly, Katharine Anderson, daughter of Sir Edmund Anderson and Magdalen Smith, circa 1590.1 He died on 24 October 1652 at age 86.1 He was buried on 18 November 1652 at Bowden, Cheshire, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 28 February 1655/56.1
He was appointed Knight in 1599.1 He was created 1st Baronet Booth, of Dunham Massey, co. Chester [England] on 22 May 1611.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Lancashire.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Cheshire.2
