Biography
Was appointed Man of the Stool to the boy King through Edward Somerset brother in law of the King. One of the most important jobs of court at the time. As Warwick supplanted Somerset, Stanhope lost his job and was sent to the Tower of London. Heard the allegations against him in a closed court.
Late of Beddington of Surrey, accused of plotting against member of the Council with three co-conspirators - Treason. Pleads not guilty denying strenuosly, Ordered to be hanged on the word of his enemies. Sworn heresy. Fate at hands of 13 year old King Edward VI. Beheaded Friday 26th Feb. 1552.
