Son and heir to Sir Thomas Champernoun and Eleanor Rohaut, daughter of Sir Roger. Born at Suddon, Somerset, baptized at Wincanton.
Husband of Alice de Astley, daughter of Lord Astley, Sir Thomas and Elizabeth de Beauchamp. They were married about 25 Apr 1369 and had two children; Alexander and Joan, who would marry John Courtenay.
Secondly, husband of Katherine de Daubeney, daughter of Sir Giles and Eleanor Wilington. They were married before 13 Aug 1394 and had three sons and two daughter; Richard, John and Hugh, Margaret (wife of Robert Hill) and Elizabeth.
